Yesterday was Father’s Day, a time to honor the dads in our lives whether our own fathers, husbands, sons, or like me, my two sons-in-law who are now dads to my grandchildren. The dad in your life could be a mentor-dad, a coach, or a man who has been like a Father to you.Father's Day, a time to honor the dads in our lives. Click To Tweet
I have been overwhelmingly blessed by the dads in my life. While my own dad spoke words of life to me on a regular basis, here are several statements I NEVER heard him say.
1. You can’t because you’re a girl.
2. I don’t have time for you.
3. You aren’t pretty enough.
4. You aren’t smart enough.
5. You can’t make it in college.
6. I don’t want to go to church with you.
7. I don’t love your mother.
8. I don’t love you.
What are you thankful your Dad never said to you?
I pray you have had great dads in your life who have said life-giving things to you. But if you haven’t, it’s now your turn to speak life to your own children and to others. But more than my Dad, my heavenly Father has spoken words of life to me.New dads it's now your turn to speak life to your own children and to others. Click To Tweet
I am loved.
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!” Ephesians 2:4-5
I am forgiven.
“We have redemption in Him through HIs blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:7-8
I have purpose.
“For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
