It’s so important for us to remember. Whether alone or with family and friends, take time today to stop and remember those who have given their lives for the freedoms we enjoy as a nation. Pray for our nation and for the families that have lost loved ones in protecting us and fighting for our liberties. Let’s remember the cost of those freedoms: the freedom to gather, the freedom to pray, the freedom to live and work.
If you know people who have served in our nation’s armed forces, call them and tell them thank you. If you know of a family member who has lost someone in that service, call and let them know you remember. There is a powerful gift you give someone when you remember them. Give that gift today. If you know people who have served in our nation's armed forces, call them and tell them thank you. #memorialday Click To Tweet
Wars are still raging today. Soldiers are still fighting for justice and freedom around the world. The fight for freedom may never cease. But there was a fight for our freedom that took place on a cross when Jesus gave his life freely to forever defeat the enemy of sin, darkness, and destruction. The great exchange. My sin for his righteousness. May these truths from God’s Word help us remember that the ultimate fight for freedom has been won.
“The curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle. And Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.’ Saying this, he breathed his last.” Luke 23:45
“Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.” John 8:36
“Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
