Having a bigger picture of the world is always good for us. Even as we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, it is good to spend some time focused on mothers around the world. As we celebrate Mother's Day, it is good to remember moms all around the world. Click To Tweet
One of the beautiful things I have discovered in doing ministry in different parts of the world is the things I have in common with other women like the deep and fierce love we have for our children. One Mom that so impacted me was a mother of four, one with special needs, living in the favelas of San Paulo, Brazil. Her floors were dirt but so clean and she had the biggest smile I have ever seen. She walked for miles to work to provide for her children. A fierce love.
Moms all around the world want the best for their children, but many face overwhelming challenges due to poverty. One gift you can give this Mother’s Day is to find a way for you to minister and serve the moms of the world. If you don’t know where to begin, one ministry I recommend is Compassion International. They truly support moms and children.
Did you know a child in a developing country is 10 times more likely to die before the age of 5 than a child born in a modern country?
Partnering with Compassion International this Mother’s Day would be a beautiful gift for a Mom in your life who has a heart for serving others.
Whether with Compassion International, through your church’s global ministry, or many other ministries, look for ways to connect with Moms around the world. Sometime this weekend, stop and pray for them. You will receive so much more than you give.
