Happy 4th of July!
Today, July 4th, many from the United States of America, will celebrate Independence Day. This holiday’s history began on July 4, 1776, when the Continental Congress established the Declaration of Independence declaring that the thirteen colonies were a new nation. This day is worth all the fireworks, music, food, and fellowship. Freedom is worth celebrating. It is a good day to take a few minutes and tell your children the story of this first Independence Day celebration.
If you are from the United States, it is good to pause to remember all the daily personal benefits and blessings of our freedom. It is easy to forget. If you are from the US, it is good to remember all the daily blessings of our freedom. Click To Tweet
I am thankful I have the personal freedom to:
2. Read the Bible.
3. Pray anytime and anywhere.
4. Go to church.
5. Work and pick where I work.
6. Marry and have children.
7. Go to college.
8. Choose a career.
9. Pick where to live.
11. Give money to others.
12. Have people in my home.
13. Drive a car.
15. Use and develop my gifts and abilities.
16. Make financial decisions.
17. Share Christ with others.
18. Fly the American flag.
19. Celebrate specific events.
20. Disagree with government leaders.
Today, as a citizen of the United States of America, I celebrate the many blessings of freedom. But even more, I celebrate the freedom I have in Christ that is eternal and available without national boundaries.
“Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2
What freedoms do you celebrate?
