Today, we honor a man who made a significant impact on our nation and the world. As we reflect on his life today, may his leadership voice still challenge us to lead well in the places God has placed us.
Leadership Quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend. — MLK Jr. Click To Tweet
“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”.I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. — MLK Jr. Click To Tweet
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”The time is always right to do what is right. — MLK Jr. Click To Tweet
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Dr. King was an American Baptist minister with strong Christian beliefs. So much of his leadership was influenced by his faith. I think it is only appropriate as we honor him today, that we look to scripture as our foundation for our own leadership:
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave HIs One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
