4 Christmas Leadership & Family Traditions You Still Have Time To Do:
1. A Simple Note
Write a note to those on your team who have lost a loved one this past year. The first Christmas is always the hardest. You remembering will make a significant impact for those hurting this season. If it is someone in your church, you may want to drop by for a visit or get your children to help make cards to send.
2. A Service Project.
Gather a few of the leaders you are developing and go do a service project together. Some ideas are: serve in a food kitchen for the homeless, spend a day sorting clothes or preparing food baskets at a shelter, or do some yard work or home repairs for an elderly person. Also, a visit to a nursing home or your area hospital is a blessing to those you visit. There are so many projects you could do, but make it a day with you and some of your team. Do the same with your children as a family. Teach them the joy of serving others.
3. An Extra Gift.
Is there anyone on your team having an especially hard financial challenge this Christmas? Does your organization have a fund to help employees in a financial crisis? If not, start one. See what your team can do to serve team members in need this season. As a family, you can ask everyone to pitch in and give to help someone in need.
4. A Special Thank-You
Take a retired leader to breakfast or lunch and thank them for the contribution they have made over the years. It is a powerful gift to let someone know they are not forgotten. Ask them to share leadership stories with you. As a family, you can reach out to a retired pastor or school teacher and do the same.
