“Why do I love Mondays? What is it about Mondays that I think is an opportunity for you? Well, Mondays start the tone for the week. We have had time to get refreshed by a few days off. As a leader, there are several things we are responsible to keep our organization moving forward, one is the mission and work of the organization. Do you love the mission as a leader? Do you believe in it as a leader? Are you motivated by it as a leader?”
“If you hit Mondays tired, not energetic, you hate that the weekend’s over, you dread the week before you — I guarantee your team knows that. You don’t have to say a word. They sense it. If that’s a pattern for you, you need to resign as a leader. You need to resign or take a major break and regroup. Your organization depends on you to authentically believe in the mission that your organization does; that you believe in the people who are driving that mission forward; and that you’re all in on the strategy. They need to know that you are confident. You believe that there’s a future for the work that you do. Your team will either feel that or not feel it on Monday mornings.”
